Year 4 Spring term quest
This term our quest is 'Inferno'. Click on the link below to see some of the things we will be up to.
Here is some of our quest work from the Autumn term.
Below are a few things that you will find useful. If you have any questions, then please contact us via the school office email address.
Monday and Thursday. The children should come into school dressed in full PE kit for the day.
Maths homework will be set on My Maths on a Friday. It needs to be completed by the following Friday, otherwise the children will complete it during break time on the Friday.
English homework will be set on a Monday. It needs to be completed by the following Monday, otherwise the children will complete it during break time on the Monday.
The children are given a list of words at the beginning of each half term. They are taught the spelling rule at the beginning of the week and then the test is usually carried out the following Monday. Spelling List is attached below.
The children all have access to TT-Rockstars, which they are encouraged to use to help them improve their speed at answering questions. Occasionally they will have time in school to use TT-Rockstars. Most children are on the automatic training mode, which works through the timetables in a set order. Log in details for TT-rockstars have already been given to children in previous years but this will be sent home again with children as needed. On a Wednesday the children take part in a Club 99 challenge, they are given their tests so they can share with you how they have done.
Club 99 is a set of challenges that get increasingly more difficult. The children are given 8 minutes to complete the questions.
Reading record booklets will be sent home with each child and children are required to try to read a few times a week. Parents need to sign these reading records after each time their child has done some reading. Reading record booklets will then be collected promptly on a Wednesday morning and will be checked. The number of times each child has read over that week will be recorded (maximum one recording per day of reading) and prizes will be given to children as they reach certain milestones.
Prizes will be given after reaching the following number of reads
25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250, 275, 300, 325
Birthday book recommended reads.
