British Values

What are British Values?

Promoting fundamental British Values is a part of our spiritual, social, moral and cultural (SSMC) development in school.   Fundamental British values underpin what it means to be a citizen in modern, diverse Great Britain whereby we value our community and celebrate diversity.  These values include: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. It is this list of values that are used below as a basis for this statement.
