“Preparing our children for all of their tomorrows”

Collection Arrangements

In the morning

School starts at 8.50 a.m. for Key Stage 2 children and 8.55 a.m for Reception and Key Stage 1.

Breakfast Club is available for all children, both infants and juniors from 7.30 a.m. - 8.40/8.45 a.m. in the Key Stage 1 school hall.  It is run by SCL.

If you arrive after your child's registration time please bring your child into school by the main entrance and register with the receptionist or school secretary.  You will be asked to sign a ‘Late Slip’.  We are understanding about an occasional, unavoidable late morning but we do have to record lateness in the register.  The Family Support Adviser or Education Welfare Officer will follow up repeated lateness and absence.

Collection arrangements at the end of a school  day

Please wait in the area outside your child’s classroom.  For safety reasons we do not let children leave the playground or go to other pick-up points unless an arrangement has been made with the class teacher or a call has been made to the school secretary.  The exception to this is a parental arrangement made directly with the After School Club – they keep us updated.  We remind children that if the person meeting them has not arrived, they must come back into school and wait with their teacher or other member of staff until their parent can be contacted.  If you are late at the end of the day you child will generally be taken to the school office.

Please inform your child’s class teacher if your child is being collected by another adult.  If this is a regular arrangement please notify the school in writing.  If the school has not been informed contact will be made with parents to confirm pick up arrangements, even if this is a grandparent or other relative.  It can cause embarrassment and delay, therefore it is important to keep the school informed.  Your child’s safety is our prime consideration.

Please ensure that the school secretary is notified of any changes to your child’s contact names and telephone numbers, etc.

Collection arrangements not at the end of the day

If you need to collect your child at any other time during the school day please always come to the school office.  You will be asked to sign your child out of school, giving a reason e.g. doctor's appointment or taking child home because they are unwell.

Safety on site

When you are collecting at 3.15 p.m., please do not come into the playgrounds or onto the field until after 3.10 p.m.  If the classroom windows are open or the children are using the outside areas, it can be distracting.  If   you are collecting from the classrooms at the back of the school, please come into our front playground and down the side of the school.

Please make sure you keep younger children safe when they are on the school premises.  They should not be allowed to play on the equipment outside the classrooms.  This is provided for children attending the primary school and is only insured for those children during school hours.
