Year 3 Remote Learning

Hi Year 3 and welcome to remote learning. Mrs Coleman will be your remote teacher Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Then Mrs Harding will take over on Thursday and Friday. :)

Every morning we are going to set you up with some daily challenges for you to complete at home. Make sure to record your work in your remote learning books. We are also going to check in with you every afternoon to see how you are getting on with the work and to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to leave a comment in the guestbook about how you are getting on as we would love to hear from you all.

We are here alongside you so please contact us for help, guidance or just to say hello on Guestbook or class e-mails given below.

Hello Owls and Kestrels,

Well we have finally made it to the last day of the summer term, although very different to what we are used to!

I hope you have been enjoying the sunshine and enjoy todays games.

Remember if you would like to share anything, then please email it to me today and I will update the gallery tonight.

Have a good day

Mrs Coleman

Dear Owls and Kestrels,

Well done for your resilience during this time.  Good luck for Year 4, I know you will have an amazing time!  Have a fabulous holiday.

Maths

TTRockstars

Remember the best way to improve is to take part in the teacher set sections, this will take you through the tables in a systematic way. After a certain number of games you will be asked to do do gig again. Your results will be adjusted and you will be put on the appropriate level. You may find you go down a level, if this happens then please contact me and I will be able to explain why.

Warm up

Each day complete one set of reasoning questions from the document below.

You can then check your answers.

Game 1

Totality

Watch the video below (which has not got any sound). It shows two people playing the game.
Can you work out how to play the game?
What do you think the rules might be?

Have a go at playing the game several times.
Can you find any good ways to win?

A reminder of some games we have played in school.

Fun art activities

Here are a few activities that you may like to have a go at over the holidays.  They include drawing Trolls, Wacky Birds and Texture Monsters.

English

Word game

Last word – first word.

Write a sentence. If you can’t think of one then start with “I saw a cat” but I’m sure you can think of something more exciting!

The only rule to this game is that the next sentence has to start with the last word of the first sentence.

Bob cycled to his friend’s house.

House prices are large.

Large eggs are laid by Ostriches.

Ostriches run very quickly.

Quickly, they made their way home.

Good afternoon Year 3

I hope you've all had a fantastic morning!

So we know how hard you have all been working during lockdown and we have been so amazed by all of your work and commitment to learning, but we also know of some other people that you might like to thank for helping you.

Your Parents and Carers, maybe Grandparents and brothers or sisters have taken on the role of homeschool teachers these last few months and I thought it would be nice to create a special award for them.

I have uploaded a certificate for you to look at so you can have a go at creating your own design. All you need is a piece of paper and some pens or pencils. You can make it as simple or as creative as you like!

Once you are finished you can give it to your chosen person at home. We'd love to see some final photos of your awards. Maybe you could have a special presentation for them and write a speech!
